Grading Policy Student grades are awarded based on the following guidelines: Accelerated 7 30% - Coursework 70% - Assessments Math 8 40% - Coursework 60% - Assessments Coursework (Classwork & Homework) "Unit Plans" are shared on the class website at the beginning of each unit with the details for each assignment. To receive full credit work needs to be submitted by the due date. It is the students responsibility to make sure they know what the homework assignment is and when it is due.
Classwork: Digits online practice and other classroom activities will be considered part of the students “Classwork.” As such, it will be completed to the best of the student’s ability and submitted during class.
Homework: Homework, along with it’s due date and late due date will be itemized specifically titled online in the student’s Unit Plan on the class website.
Recommended (but not required) Additional Study: In an effort for self-improvement in Mathematics, students are encouraged, but not required, to participate in the following academic practices. As these are recommended, but not required, they are not considered additional homework.
Additional Study in Digits. Any student who voluntarily chooses to re-complete a Digits assignment for an improved score may do so outside of class up until the expiration date of the assignment for full credit.
Late Work Policy Work that is not turned in on time but is submitted by the Late due date will receive partial credit. Work will not be accepted for credit after the Late Due Date. Extra Credit In an effort for self-improvement in Mathematics, students are encouraged, but not required, to participate in the following academic practices outside of their normally designated homework time:.i-Ready Quizzes are available in i-Ready after their corresponding lessons have been completed. This credit is added to Home Link twice per quarter (the last day before each Progress Reports and Report Cards are submitted).
Digits: “The Other-Half” assignments include all of the problems skipped during the regular assignments. These can be completed up until the assignments expiration date. These assignments are scored and updated to the system shortly after their respective due dates.

Other Extra Credit options may also be made available at the teachers discretion.

Follow All School and District Rules
Students in seat with materials, ready to work by the time the tardy bell rings
All cell phones turned off and put away before first bell
No eating or chewing gum
Actively seek additional help when needed
Must raise hand and wait for teachers permissionto speak or get out of your seat
Students will write all assignments in planner
Students will not pack-up until instructed by the teacher
Student is responsible for asking about missed assignments immediately upon returning to class

Follow instructions the first time they are given
Complete all tasks on time and with integrity
Discipline This class does not use a progressive discipline routine. Rather, discipline is assigned according to the severity and frequency of an action. The intent of the discipline is to help the student learn the appropriate behaviors expected in class. Possible consequences are:
Verbal warnings
Phone calls home to parents
Detention
Discipline referrals
Revisions
The teacher retains the right to revise these policies as necessary throughout the school year.
