After an awesome summer vacation I’m excited to be back and am looking forward to helping another group of students tackle their next Math class!
8th grade marks the second year of the students secondary education, a six-year progression of instruction designed to prepare students for college or employment. As such, the class focuses on developing the student as an independent learner. Students are taught general practices appropriate for secondary education (self-advocacy, self-determination, note-taking, study skills, homework skills, etc..) and are then held accountable to use these skills in class.
The content for this course includes work in:
Rational and Irrational Numbers
Expressions and Equations
Functions
Geometry
Statistics
Students will need the following supplies for this class:
3-Ring binder with section devoted specifically to Math
Several #2 pencils (NO pens, please)
Spiral notebooks specifically for Math (about 10-12 for the entire school year)
WIRED Headphones/Earbuds (NO bluetooth/wireless headphones, please)
